The Earth is a Dome

It's kinda crazy to think that I've been here in the MTC for over a week! It's cool to look at all the Swedish I have learned, min komrat have given five lessons to our "investigator" Thea now. They have been passable, but the hardest part has definitely been trying to get her to feel the Spirit. We have shared a lot of great scriptures with her, but she keeps saying the the feeling of Peace any happyness she is feeling is not the Spirit. The worst part is I have ideas of what to say to her, but no idea of how to say them is Swedish. Min komrat are way cool though, Äldster Barker and Harding. All the Äldster are super cool actually and we have all been best friends from day one. My zone is also pretty bomb. Comprised of Swedish Äldster, Norwegian Eldster, and Finnish Vanhins, my zone is the most talented group of 24-ish people I know. Literally every Vanhin scored 30+ on the ACT, and only two Swedes or Nords got below 30, and only just. Everyone playes some kind of musical instrument, and I can honestly say that the Lord is really sending the best of the best to Scandinavia to hasten the work there. It really is amazing how awesome everyone is. I feel the same for the Syster (Swedes), but don't know for sure about the Sisors (Finns) because we don't interact much, and there are no Norwegian Syster.

One of the Vanhin is a godsend to me. Vanhin Kärn is from Sweden, so he loves to talk to us about Sweden and helps us with pronunciation and stuff. He is really one the coolest people I know.

My teachers are the best. Broder Workman och Chenny, och Syster Adamson och Lindsey are some of the coolest people I know. John and Taylor, Syster Adamson och Lindsey are single, so keep your eye out :)

As you may have noticed, my subject for this email is "The earth is a dome". One of the Äldster is kinda into conspiracy theories, and one day during lunch he spouted all these facts about flight patterns and expeditions to the Antartic and scriptures and stuff that proved the earth is a dome. It was actually kinda funny because everyone expected him to go "just kidding", but he never did. So I ended up having to use a napkin to disprove him by talking about constilations. Anyways, now our district has a secret handshake, and always points out dome shapes and stuff. It's quite funny.
This Sunday we watched a talk from Elder Bednar called The Character of Christ, and it's super good. It is only shown in the MTC and is about an hour long, but if you guys can find a copy of it, it is super good.

I apologize for no pictures, I did take some but left my camera in my room.

Das all,
Äldste Wilson

Hello from the MTC

I am currently typing on a keyboard without paint on the keys, so I won't be able to type much in the short time I have. The MTC is great, I am in a trio with Elders Barker and Harding. There are seven elders going to Sweden and seven sisters going to Sweden, which I thought was quite interesting. I am loving the times I've had in my classes, especially the time spent in my "homeroom" where we are learning Swedish. It really moves quite fast in the moment, but like molasses in retrospect. Tomorrow we get the opportunity to teach our first "investigator" in Swedish, so that should go great. Our plan is to have them read a scripture about how God is love, then tell them pre-written statements about how much God loves them. Not much of a lesson, but it'll do. My branch president it pretty awesome, he lives in Lehi and is a pathologist. The hardest part so far has been the language, but a close second is trying to eat all my breakfast or lunch the same speed as my companions. With my retainers, it's quite the endeavor.

Love,
Aldste Wilson
